If you read this blog, you surely know about very famous diamonds and maybe could tell one or two stories about them and the destiny of the persons that possessed them. They have names, documents and are followed by fans more than all the vip persons together. Here are some of the names, you can search in google if you want to read their stories:
Blue Heart, Blue Hope, Centenary, Chrysanthemum, Cullinan's, De Beers, De Beers Millennium Star, Dresden Green, Great Star of Africa, Hortensia, Idol's Eye, Koh-i-Noor, Orloff, Portuguese, Premier Rose, Regent, Sancy, Taylor-Burton, Tiffany, Vargas
The question I want to ask you is: did you know that they find such kind of diamonds today too? No? Look here: "Letseng Legacy", 493 karat, was found in 2007 in Letseng le Terai ( 70% British + 30% government of Lesoto) and was sold for 10.4 mil.dol to one private.
In the same place was found "Lesotho Promise" in 2006. It is 603 karat large and was sold for 12.36 mil. dol.
But these diamonds are probably not very good bacause they are so hardly discounted. They tell about completely new white diamond only 72 karat wich cost is 10-13 mil. dol.
The biggest diamond is Cullinan.
In 2007 Guardian wrote about the new enormous diamant found in Sud Africa. It had to be 7000 karat big (about 1,5 kg) and it's cost was approximately 30 mil.dol. All the world waited it's presentation. But... "World's largest uncut diamond denounced as plastic fake" wrote Guardian on 06.10.2007
