Precious Stones -Mines of Afganistan

Afganistan is the country where they extract the best quality of my favourite semiprecious stone -Lapis Lazuli. I discovered that there are different videos telling about the mines and miners' work. Because Afganistan is rich not only on Lapis but on other precious stones, too, there are different mines there. Here you can see two of the videos that are, I thought, the most expressive.

Why We Love Gold and Semiprecious Stones?

The question I wrote in the title of this post is really interesting for me. Why? I read about the rarity and the difficulties of these minerals: yes, it's true. It can cause the wish to possess. But we LOVE them. Both gold and stones. Well, silver, too.

It's not important for me, if someone likes my stones, if they have value or they are outside parts of the entire bedding. I love them without reason.

When I visit the museums ( Montecassino and Salerno Main Churches are Twins:), I see often rings and otherornaments made with gold and stones like these:

Montecsassino

People used many stones that are not very "precious" today. But they used them not only because these stones and metalls were precious. They used them for their beauty first of all, I think. Our preferences are often conditioned by the society. But we use what we like.

Or we like what we use?
